The Canisius College Press was founded in 1997 to publish local books and other media featuring prominent Buffalo and Western New York heritage.  In addition to being sold to the public, the books were also used for courses, projects, and lectures held at Canisius. When publishing ceased in June 2005, Canisius College Press founder Joseph Biernon, PhD helped form a new publishing company called Buffalo Heritage Unlimited. 

Since its founding in April 2006, Buffalo Heritage Unlimited has acquired rights to the Canisius College Press books, and currently distributes and sells the inventory for the college.  Available books include:
