Canisius offers a major and a minor in art history. The program includes a wide range of courses in the history of art from antiquity to the present and in the history of painting, sculpture, architecture, photography and film. Majors, minors and non-majors alike acquire an understanding and appreciation of the cultural heritage of their own and other civilizations.

Electronic imaging technology is a major component of the art history major at Canisius. Students in art history courses learn the most recent interactive multimedia technology as part of their art history training.
